The sidebar is the main teacher navigation area in ReadingFluency.app. It is where you move between your dashboard, students, passages, reports, subscription details, workspace settings, support, account controls, and theme settings.
Use the sidebar
Use the sidebar to open:
- Dashboard for recent activity and quick actions
- Students for rosters, student records, roster groups, and goals
- Passages for generated, imported, printed, and organized texts
- Reports when reporting is enabled for your workspace
- Subscription for plan and workspace credit information
- workspace controls for switching or managing shared workspaces
- support, profile, and theme controls
The sidebar is workspace-aware. When you switch workspaces, the students, passages, assessments, and reports you see also switch.
Switch or manage a workspace
- In the sidebar footer, click the Active workspace switcher.
- Choose another workspace if you belong to more than one.
- If you own the workspace, click Manage Workspace.
- Review members, pending invites, and collaborator roles.
Teacher Plus and district workspaces can invite collaborators. Collaborators share the same passages, student roster, assessments, and reports for that workspace.
Decide what belongs in each workspace
Use separate workspaces when the student roster or data ownership needs to stay separate. For example, a reading specialist might keep one workspace for a school caseload and another for a pilot group.
Use one shared workspace when multiple educators need to collaborate around the same students, passages, and reading records.
Understand workspace credits
ReadingFluency.app uses workspace credits for recording and AI analysis. Credits belong to the active workspace, so the balance can change when you switch workspaces.
- Free accounts receive signup credits.
- Teacher Plus subscribers receive monthly credits.
- District licenses include unlimited credits for covered workspaces.
Open Subscription from the sidebar to see the current workspace credit balance and plan status.
For a fuller explanation of Teacher Plus credits, monthly grants, and district licenses, see the April 2026 product update.
