Refer a Teacher and Earn Credits
Learn how to claim your ReadingFluency.app referral link, share it with a colleague, and earn credits when they sign up and subscribe to Teacher Plus, plus the rules on caps, refunds, and self-referrals.
Follow the app setup path.
- 1Get StartedStart here before moving into the workflow tutorials.
- 2Sidebar & WorkspacesUse the sidebar to move between Dashboard, Students, Passages, Reports, Subscription, workspace controls, account settings, support, theme settings, and workspace credit details.
- 3Passages & CollectionsCreate passages with AI or manual entry, import a PDF, photo, CSV, or pasted text, export, print, and organize passages into reusable collections.
- 4Import & PrintingDrop a PDF, photo, CSV, or pasted text onto New Passage Import, review and edit each passage (including already-in-library flags), then print paper copies with running word counts.
- 5Share CollectionsTurn any passage collection into a link. Colleagues preview the passages and copy them into their own library without getting access to your workspace.
- 6Students & GroupsSet up the student side of ReadingFluency.app with one Add Student dialog for adding one or importing many, a review step, roster groups, bulk archive and delete, and student progress history.
- 7Run an AssessmentStart a student read, choose timed or open-ended mode, mark miscues, review AI-assisted scoring, and keep teacher notes with the assessment report.
- 8Live Group SessionsUse live group sessions when students should complete assigned readings from their own devices while the teacher monitors the roster and reviews results.
- 9Reports AnalysisUse Reports to review student fluency trends, group goals, WCPM and accuracy views, distribution charts, percentile bands, ROI, and goal gaps.
- 10Refer a TeacherClaim a handle once, share readingfluency.app/r/your-handle, and you both earn credits: 50 for the colleague who signs up, 300 or 500 for you when they subscribe to Teacher Plus.
Most teachers find ReadingFluency.app because a colleague showed it to them. The referral program pays both sides of that introduction in credits: the teacher you invite starts with extra credits, and you earn credits when they subscribe. Rewards are always credits, never cash.
Get your referral link
- Open the profile menu in the sidebar footer.
- Choose Refer a Teacher.
- The first time, pick your referral handle. It becomes the end of your link, so
avery-riveragives youreadingfluency.app/r/avery-rivera. The app suggests one from your name. - Click Claim my link.
A handle is 3 to 30 characters of letters, numbers, and dashes, and it is always lowercase. A few words such as support and admin are reserved, and a handle another teacher has already claimed is not available. You can only pick it once, so choose one you are happy to see in a staff email.
Share the link
Once the handle is claimed, the page shows Your referral link with two buttons:
- Copy link puts
readingfluency.app/r/your-handleon the clipboard, ready for a staff email, a PLC agenda, or a message to your grade team. - Share by email opens your mail app with a short message already written. Edit it, add the colleague's address, and send. ReadingFluency.app never emails your colleagues on your behalf.
The same link works for every colleague, as many times as you like, and it does not expire. Under the link, Your referrals counts sign-ups, subscriptions, and the credits you have earned so far.
What your colleague sees
The link opens the ReadingFluency.app sign-in page with a banner: "[Your name] invited you. Create your account and you both get free credits." The page opens on the create-account form, and they sign in with Google or with an email and password like any other teacher.
Their new workspace starts with 200 credits: the 150 signup credits every workspace receives, plus 50 referral credits. The 50 arrive the moment the account is created. There is no code to type and nothing to redeem.
What you earn
| When your colleague... | You receive |
|---|---|
| Subscribes to Teacher Plus monthly | 300 credits |
| Subscribes to Teacher Plus annual | 500 credits |
| Started monthly and moves to annual within their first year | 200 more credits, 500 in total |
Credits arrive when the first payment goes through. They land in the bonus bucket of your personal workspace, which never expires, and the Subscription page shows them in the balance card next to any monthly credits. Monthly credits are spent first, so referral credits wait in reserve until a subscription month runs dry.
They are spent like any other credit: 1 credit per recording and 2 per AI analysis, so 300 credits covers about 100 fully AI-scored reads.
The rules in short
- New accounts only. A colleague who already uses ReadingFluency.app can open your link, but signing in to an existing account changes nothing.
- One reward per colleague. The reward is paid on their first payment. If they cancel and subscribe again later, it is not paid twice.
- 20 rewarded subscriptions a year. Sign-ups and the welcome credits your colleagues receive are not capped.
- Refunds reverse the reward. If your colleague's first payment is refunded, the credits it earned are removed from your balance.
- No self-referrals. A second account of your own, or one that shares your email address, earns nothing. Colleagues at the same school with the same email domain are fine. That is the point.
- Teacher Plus only. School and district licenses are arranged with us directly and sit outside the program.
The full terms are on the Referral Program Terms page.
If the link was opened on a different device
The link remembers the invitation for 60 days in the browser where it was opened, so a colleague can click it on Monday and create their account on Friday. What it cannot do is follow them to another device. If they open the link on their phone but sign up on a school laptop, they should open the link again on the laptop first. The safe habit is simple: open the link, then create the account, in the same browser.
