Share a Passage Collection with Colleagues
Learn how to share a ReadingFluency.app passage collection with colleagues using a link, what recipients can see and copy, and how to refresh, regenerate, or revoke the link.
Follow the app setup path.
- 1Get StartedStart here before moving into the workflow tutorials.
- 2Sidebar & WorkspacesUse the sidebar to move between Dashboard, Students, Passages, Reports, Subscription, workspace controls, account settings, support, theme settings, and workspace credit details.
- 3Passages & CollectionsCreate passages with AI or manual entry, import a PDF, photo, CSV, or pasted text, export, print, and organize passages into reusable collections.
- 4Import & PrintingDrop a PDF, photo, CSV, or pasted text onto New Passage Import, review and edit each passage (including already-in-library flags), then print paper copies with running word counts.
- 5Share CollectionsTurn any passage collection into a link. Colleagues preview the passages and copy them into their own library without getting access to your workspace.
- 6Students & GroupsSet up the student side of ReadingFluency.app with one Add Student dialog for adding one or importing many, a review step, roster groups, bulk archive and delete, and student progress history.
- 7Run an AssessmentStart a student read, choose timed or open-ended mode, mark miscues, review AI-assisted scoring, and keep teacher notes with the assessment report.
- 8Live Group SessionsUse live group sessions when students should complete assigned readings from their own devices while the teacher monitors the roster and reviews results.
- 9Reports AnalysisUse Reports to review student fluency trends, group goals, WCPM and accuracy views, distribution charts, percentile bands, ROI, and goal gaps.
Grade teams usually end up with one teacher who builds the benchmark set. Collection sharing turns that set into a link. Colleagues open it, read the passages, and copy them into their own library in one click — without joining your workspace or seeing anything else in it.
Create a share link
- Go to the Passages page and select the collection chip you want to share.
- Click the share icon next to the collection name.
- Read the sharing notice, then click Create Share Link.
Once the link exists, the dialog switches to the management view. Copy the link, open it in a new tab to check what colleagues will see, or regenerate and revoke it later.
What your colleagues see
The link opens a read-only page listing every passage in the collection with its full text, grade, language, and topic tags. There is no sign-in wall to read it.
Clicking Add to my library copies each passage into the recipient's own workspace, grouped into a new collection. The copies are independent: editing a passage on either side does not change the other. If the same person adds the collection again later, their existing copy is refreshed instead of duplicated.
Cover images are not copied. Every workspace generates its own artwork, so the same passage can look different in your library and theirs.
What your colleagues need to copy them
Reading is open to anyone with the link. Copying is not, so it is worth knowing what a colleague will see before you send it:
- No account yet. The page shows Sign in to add instead of the copy button. Creating a free account takes a moment, and the link is waiting for them afterwards.
- Signed in, but viewing the wrong workspace. Passages copy into the workspace they are currently in, so a colleague whose role there is view-only is told to switch to one where they can manage passages.
Neither case blocks reading. A colleague can always open the link and read every passage, even with no account at all — worth saying when you send it, so nobody assumes they have to sign up just to look.
Keep the link current
The share link stays fixed, but the content behind it is not frozen. Opening the share dialog republishes the collection, so whatever the collection contains at that moment is what viewers see.
If you add three passages to a collection you shared last month, reopen the share dialog to push those additions to the link. Colleagues use the same URL as before.
Regenerate or revoke
- Regenerate issues a new URL and breaks the old one. Use it when a link went further than you intended — forwarded outside your team, or posted somewhere public — but you still want to share with the right people.
- Revoke turns the link off entirely. Anyone who opens it sees nothing.
Neither action touches copies colleagues already added to their libraries. Those are theirs now.
Share only what you may share
Anyone with the link can read and copy the full text of every passage. That is the point of the feature, and it is also the limit of it.
Passages you wrote or generated in the app are yours to share. Published, purchased, or district-licensed materials usually are not, even when they are already sitting in your library. Check the license before sharing a collection built from a curriculum packet or an assessment vendor's texts.
